1. one thing that she faced was playing in the baseball game right after his death.that was a tough decision on her part but i think her boyfriend woud have wannted her to play in the game rather than morn over him.
2. justin gave her the ring to give her some hope and brighten uop her spirits. alos it seems like it would be a sort of last momento from him to her and a promise ring is a good way to show that no matter what happens with his death he will always be there for her. and honestly i think it actually helped with the copeing over his illness rather than making it harder.
3. the article teaches us that no one is immortal and that we all face death one day we just have to struggle through it and move on. be strong in the face of death and remember the good times you had with that person.
4. i thought the stroy was very well written. it was a cool love stroy between to teens and the way hey met was pretty cool out on the baseball field.

Blog #10
1. my initial reaction to kelly's disqualification is that it is rediculous for her to be disqualified for something as simple as a hood.
2.my argument regarding the assertion that her disqualification is religous discrimination would be that they disqualified her because she had a hood on that is common for people to wear in the muslim faith and that if they were offered options to cover up the hood with a shirt before the race why wouldn't they do it. yes the disqualification of athletes for non- religous reasons affects my response because there were other kids on other teams that were also disqualified for uniform violations.
3. if i were to write an argumentative essay on this then i would have to research this event, the rules for the actual race, and other stuff.
4. rogers effectively defends himselfand his stance on the issue however it doesn't seem like his argument is very strong.
5. some solutions for implementing track rules are people just relaxing and not worrying over what's on the uniform of the kids running and just let them run their race.
6.no it wouldn't change my answer because if someone can't distinguish between to different people on different teams then they shouldn't be judging the finish line in the first place.

blog #6
in one of Heisler's photos there are some little boys standing by a coffin with an american flag over it. two of the little boys are already dressed up in military uniforms. i think this photo is a good argument against the iraq war. the photo does a good job of arguing the point that america's youth are going over to iraq and fighting and how that it is a very bad thing when a country starts sending off some of it's youngest men and sons off to war.
if i were to write an argumentative essay on this photo i would probably bring up the argument about america's youth going off to fight the war and the casualty numbers so far in this war.
if i had to create a caption for this picture i would probably say something like, "they get younger and younger everytime". the arguement i'm trying to make with this caption is that america's youth going off to fight for their country and also the fact that some of the little boys in the picture are wearing army uniforms already.

army video games
i think that creating video games to promote recruting for the army is not a good idea. violence in video games can lead to children becoming violent. even though it can be a good way for the army to recruit new members for america's army i feel that it is also not good because it is a video game simulator. since it is just a simulator video game kids that play these games might get the wrong idea about what the army actually is and they might not realize that if someone does join the army and goes to war it is not like a video game. it is all very real and people do get hurt. if someone wants to join the army and serve for our country my hat is off to them but, i just think that making an army simulator game to promote the recruitment of young teens into the army is not the way to go about recruiting.
